Religion, Edified
Someone showed me the original video and I liked it, I had some problems with it but over all I thought it was a nice way to get the message out. So I posted it right away. I stand corrected. Thank you, Sye TenBruggencate via TheChocolate Knox, that showed me this "fixed" version.
I knew this too, because false religions have a common denominator and that is there assault on the term "Justification."
We, as believers, have a beautiful religion because it is a fruit which comes from God. It starts with him and ends with him.
The religion we show is a result of what God did. It is an external response. For example, we love because he first loved us. The false religions out there have a completely different gospel. As a result they bring their filthy rags and present them to God thinking they are working their way to God. We have been made clean by Christ. The false religions make themselves clean.
Speaking of being "Edified", have you watched the conversation?
(Its a playlist with ALL three shorts, watch them all, last one great)

Thanks for posting this. I specifically think that your Atheist friends will get a good kick out of the second video. As it shows why the atheist and the viewers of your Blog actually do believe in God and are suppressing the truth, not unaware of it.
ReplyDeleteOh grief, not that bullshit again....
ReplyDeleteMarcus:
ReplyDeleteI won't even watch a video that I know is predicated on a lie. Atheists do not believe in the christian god. I'm not (strictly speaking) an atheist and even I know he is fictitious. Furthermore, I know that you and Dan know him to be a work of fiction. Now, I will stipulate that some christians really believe. But no one that really believed in the biblical god would pursue the lie that those who do not believe "really do believe but are suppressing the truth in unrighteousness."
Here's someone who gave up on xianity, and it was not because of "suppressing the truth in unrighteousness".
ReplyDeleteStill, I tried fervently to seek God in spite of growing doubts. I
wanted to believe that he existed. I prayed that he would show me the
way. Lying in bed at night I prayed until I cried, begging that he
would restore my faith. I read more Christian books and studied the
Bible more fervently.
Eventually I accepted what my heart and mind was telling me – there is
not God. It’s not that I didn’t believe in Jesus’ teaching, but that
his divinity and the existence of a God seemed increasingly unlikely
in light of what I was learning about the world around me. I never
stopped believing in the Bible in the sense that it is the greatest
source of moral truth in my life.
Now Dan, I know you, and before you say that he's "borrowing" your worldview for morality, you'd better read his entire post.

ReplyDeleteFucksake! Can't we leave the TAG where it belongs, ground into the dust back in 2011? Who's this latest BUFFOON thinking that it's a slam dunk proof that his version of his god exists?
Marcus, I challenge you to appear on the Fundamentally Flawed podcast - come and convince us.
That's what they do, Alex: they repeat the same things over and over and over again. It doesn't mater whether it's been discredited or not.
ReplyDeleteTo claim that I am 'denying the truth in unrighteousness' is an outright lie. I used to believe (and I really did, fervently, believe) and now I don't. So I know the arguments from both sides and know that the Christian view is completely without merit. YHWH does not exist, it's that simple.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, I've been told by way of divine revelation (ie. I can be sure it's absolutely true) that Dan is wrong. Dan has been told this as well, but his pride makes him pretend otherwise. His very act of denying it would not be possible without the existence of my (his) God.
