Pointless Prepping

About a week ago, an Atheist asked me what I was doing to prepare for the upcoming 12/21/2012. My answer was that I was going to do the dishes preparing for the next day, nothing more.

I am not worried about the solar flares, pole reversals, or asteroids hitting us. What I observe are the criminal enterprises of our times. Namely, the central banks and the governments. THAT is the most horrifying thing that we face in these times, if you are to worry about something. Why? Because evil exists.

So how do you prepare for that? You don't. All you can do is get right with God. Repent and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ with your heart, mind, and soul. He may not make this ride we are on any more comfortable but when the smoke clears we will be with God in an eternal, righteous, world. THAT is the day my family and I are fully prepared for.

So we will go about our lives and watch as our governments destroy the economies and usher in a world currency due to the monetary deflation wars currently going on, as revealed in this video.

Matthew 6:25-34 instructs us not to worry, but to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you."

We are prepared because...

"Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you." ~Hebrews 13:5

Why would you want to trust a dead preacher man? Your Magic Jeebus Man is dead, dead, dead. Didn't you know that?

"All you can do is get right with God."

As if a magical master of the entire universe (if it was real) would give a **** about you. Your imaginary god fairy is responsible for trillions and trillions of planets and you expect to get right with it.

Logic and common sense are wonderful things. Another great idea is demanding evidence for everything instead of just believing any childish nonsense you were brainwashed to believe.

Does it ever bother you that you're wasting your life living in an insane magical fantasy world?

    1. Wait, how do you know your reasoning is valid? And, the follow up question would be, is it viciously circular to employ your senses and reasoning to validate your senses and reasoning?

    2. Dan, you've yet to show that your reasoning is valid. At least asking for evidence before one accepts something is sensible, unlike this presuppositionalist bullshit.

All you people do is assert that you're right while not bothering with evidence. All it is is a dodge, as you've just shown again.

I asked once before: If the bible is the basis for science that you presuupers think, then let's see you use the bible to prove that the earth orbits the sun. Or use the bible to calculate the value of pi.

  2. Dan:

It is viciously circular for you to defend the validity of your "revelation" by appealing to your "revelation." And your "revelation" is in dispute. His reasoning is not. The mere fact that you asked him the question means that you accept his reasoning as valid without relying on the disputed "revelation."

    1. >> It is viciously circular for you to defend the validity of your "revelation" by appealing to your "revelation."

How? You're going to have to flesh that one out for us. Did you use your reasoning to come to that conclusion? If so, how do you know it's valid?

Appealing to another plane OTHER then the one we currently are in, certainly is not viciously circular, by mere definition alone.

      >> The mere fact that you asked him the question means that you accept his reasoning as valid without relying on the disputed "revelation."

How? Of course I disagree. The reason for the questions is for that very point. His reasoning is faulty. Do you accept my reasoning about the revelation as valid even? Or are you only biased to questioning MY reasoning because it includes revelation from God? If that is indeed the case, what is the difference between the two of us?

    2. Dan: There is no evidence for this "other plane" that you're talking about. You're appealing to something that doesn't bloody exist!

Just how is that other guy's reasoning "faulty"? Pvblivs is right. Your "revelation" from god doesn't wash because this so-called "revelation" (which includes the bible) is flawed, as biblical mistakes show. Again, remember my challenge.

If the bible is the basis for science that you presuupers think, then let's see you use the bible to prove that the earth orbits the sun. Or use the bible to calculate the value of pi.

    3. You deny an eternal plane? Evidence for it is math, logic, laws, God, etc. You know this though.

As for your parlour trick of pi in the Bible, ...there was no decimal values in Hebrew. So tell me how to do that to reference pi, silly? BTW, it was Aristotle believed the sun revolved around the earth.

    4. Uh Dan you have heard of fractions right? Its actually more accurate to represent pi as fractions than as a decimal. Fractions are mentioned a few times in the bible such as Leviticus 27:27 so they have the ability to represent pi in that way if they wanted to.

What's interesting in this exchange is that I can predict Dan's reaction.

He's not going to pay attention to the fact that he dismissed a valid point according to his fallible understanding of math AND scripture. He's going to continue deflecting and antagonizing as if it never happened.

    6. OK Max, you may have a point. Just tell us what 22/7 is in Hebrew and I will be forced to concede to your point.

Don't forget that Hebrew reads right to left instead of left to right.

    9. That reads 22 sevens or 154 but keep trying. I am rooting for you. :7)

You're right they did use fractions, like fifth, as Strong's indicates. But now the discussion switches to my lack of knowledge for this subject, not any lacking of Scripture. I will admit that you're the first Atheist to counter my dogma about Hebrew not having decimal values. Not sure to applaud you, or weep for you. Thanks for that though. I will study more because of this exchange.

Uh, what do those things say about any "eternal plane", please?

      You're just asserting it's existence.

As for math, (Note among other things how they talk about "pi", and how other ancient people's had it more accurately pegged than the bible writers did!). logic (no laws of logic are listed in the bible), laws (you'd better hope not otherwise slavery would still be legal, and it would be ok to rape female prisoners of war based on biblical rules!)

As for your parlour trick of pi in the Bible, ...there was no decimal values in Hebrew. So tell me how to do that to reference pi, silly?
Easy, moron...the difference is large enough that the bible writers would know that it's not exactly 3. All they had to say was something like "a little bit over 3" for the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's diameter.

For a person who always brags about the scientific foreknowledge" of the bible, you sure are flexible when it's shortcomings are exposed.

BTW, it was Aristotle believed the sun revolved around the earth.
So? Your own bible keeps saying that as well. At least secular scientists figured out the truth at one point. Some of them, quite early.

  3. Here, I just said this to someone in the FB Group to her claim that her worldview cannot be "atheistic" because her atheism answers one single question.

I said, "One question? God is the precondition to all intelligibility, to deny that you must have an account for your reasoning. It is hardly a mere question, it is the foundation of one's wordview. How can you reduce your paradigm for your worldview to merely a "question" and still be intellectually honest?"

You forgot the Mass Media Televangelism industries.

A Happy Appropriated Pagan Holiday to you and yours, Dan.

  5.      No, Dan, I don't have to have an account for my reasoning. That would be preposterous as all accounts for anything rely on reasoning. And I don't need to clarify for you how using X (your fictitious "revelation") to justify itself is viciously circular. It is one of the premises of your script. Unless you agree to that, you deny your own claim for Presuppositional Baloney.
         "How?"
Simple. Any response he gives is based on his reasoning. If you believed his reasoning was not valid, you would not ask him any questions.

    1. I know your reasoning is invalid because of Revelation from God. We all conceded you can be wrong,...and you are.

    2. Sigh...and how do you know that this "revelation from god" is valid?

  6. Dan:

You have no revelation. It is a lie that you make up. If you wish to assert that my reasoning is not valid, you will need to back that up with evidence. But you can't do that. All you do is cite a nonexistent "revelation." And that is indicative of an inability to reason. But I am mostly here for those who might think you have something of merit.

  10. Dan, you are stuck in an endless loop of crap. I go away for months, come back to see what insanity you're posting, and you 'argument' hasn't developed AT ALL. You aren't even capable of understanding the counter arguments, and don't see that the presubullshit you desperately cling to is the worst possible case for faith that one could imagine. By holding on so tightly to such nonsense, you are basically saying 'I know evidential apologetics are over, that the evidence just isn't there to support my frankly idiotic claims, so I'm going to adopt a blizzard of retardation that is, if anything, EVEN LESS convincing than that failed evidentialism - but it's all I've got'

You are an astonishingly stupid failure.

What you have to realize is that Dan isn't after people who actually think. There aren't very many of those (although a lot of people like to believe themselves so.) He's after people who will accept this brand of stupidity. Those are the people who will click on his donate button.

Of course Presuppositional Baloney is unconvincing. It is designed to be without merit. Dan started using it when he came to realize that christianity is false. There is no point arguing evidence when the evidence is against you. Honesty doesn't get what you want when the truth is against you. But Sye (and now Dan) are not interested in truth. They are interested in money. If fools accept their pretense that "justify your reasoning" is a reasonable request and "X revealed it to me in such a way that I can be certain" as meeting the challenge, they will have these people for life. It immunizes such people to actual evidence-seeking. It's not a good way of winning converts. But it is a method that cults use to keep members.
