Many of the Atheists are all over this news and of course teasing, berating, and chastising ensued with meme submissions and harsh language.
This is very large news actually. Someone said the last time this happened was some 600 years ago. I can only speculate as to why he did this, with all these molestation allegations still flying around the organization, but that is something that may, or may not, finally be revealed.
We're also seeing reports of death threats people are making on Twitter. The fruit of that spirit is obvious to me, and certainly has nothing to do with Christ. We have posted about the RCC in the past about the complete apostasy in that organization. Moving on.
"In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop]. Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations: and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people. The End." ~Wiki
Now, of course, this new guy could be the pope for some 10-20 years before anything major happens, or is noticed. But he WILL be the last one, according to St. Malacy. What can we take from this? Only God knows, but we do have some guidelines from scripture to help us.
When a prophet speaks in the Lord’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." ~Deuteronomy 18:22
So far, these prophecies from St. Malacy are to give us some pause. I am very excited at the thought that Christ is returning very soon, at least in my lifetime, God willing. I am also frightened for the lost that refuse to acknowledge Christ as Lord, and Savior who died for us that are saved.
His arrival will certainly be happening, it is now just a matter of when?
I would hope the Atheists here will spend these times, before Christ's arrival, to beg and plead with Him to choose them as one of the saved. To seek Him with a broken and contrite heart, like most all of us Christians have. (Psalm 51:17)
”Prayer is not overcoming God's reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.” ~Martin Luther

Lol what a hoot!
ReplyDeleteI am not impressed. I have heard fundamentalists say that John Paul II was "prophesied to be the last pope." and we all know how that turned out. Now, Maledict is stepping down and you say the next one is "prophesied to be the last pope." And don't forget Daniel (I am not going to repeat they way he punctuated it.) He said that the end was coming sometime in 2009. It didn't happen; he took down his blog.
ReplyDeleteYour "lord" is not coming. And before you say, "they prophesied that there would be scoffers," I would like to point out that, given that an event is not going to happen, it is not hard to predict that eventually people will come to that conclusion and say so. Your "book of revelation" said that your "lord" was coming "soon." I maintain that the passage of 200 years is sufficient to rank that as false. It is not a question of "not knowing the day or the hour." That is just an excuse. You don't need to be able to say "it will happen on day X." You need to be able to say "it will happen before day Y." But you always have a cop out so that you can keep postponing it.
Dan

Some evidence instead of this circular reasoning bullshit would be nice.

The guy who wrote On the Jews and Their Lies. Yeah, "god" seems to suck at picking spokespeople, either Catholic or Protestant.
You need to be able to say "it will happen before day Y"
ReplyDeleteOk, I'll say it. You will meet your Lord before you are ready.
I'm sorry. You have failed. The claim was about this character's supposed return to Earth. By any reasonable reading, it should have happened already -- or the prophecy should be regarded as false.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, the holy books which record this supposed return do appear to give a maximum return by date - the generation of those he was supposedly addressing.
DeleteUnfortunately for Christians, those people are all dead with no sign of a return, and so they're left rationalising all sorts of exuses for the failure of this prophecy.
So is Dan now taking 16th century forgeries as 'prophesy'?? Bible no longer good enough for him??
ReplyDeleteIts pretty interesting that you would care in the slightest what any saint has to say. Hey Dan, can you tell me which religious organization it was that canonized all the saints, including this St Malacy.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, I believe that there are truly regenerate Christians in the Roman Catholic church. But, they are truly Christians in spite of official RCC theology and in spite of the ritualistic offerings of this ancient church which has had too many hands meddling in it through the centuries, gradually moving it away from orthodoxy and into apostasy.
DeleteBut that does not mean some are not Christians. St Malacy could have been, I don't know enough to judge that fruit, but the fruit that IS available for us to examine are these supposed prophecies, as Deuteronomy 18:22 instructs. Thus far, it's worth looking at. Any evidence to the contrary? This COULD be the last pope, and that is very exciting news. I will concede when, and if, that is not the case and I will update this post in the future. Because, like Atheists, I am not going anywhere until we find that out.
So you can admit that you're all tarred with the same brush.
DeleteYou all believe in magic and scorn evidence and logic. It's so rich that evangelicals blast Catholics, just because you all hold beliefs that are demonstrably false. Maybe protestants don't believe in transubstantiation, but the fact that you cling to notions of a fantastical "second coming" is just as laughable.
You claim that the RCC is a church that has gone to apostasy Dan? Well, Michael Coren would disagree with you, as is obvious by the title of one of his books called Why Catholics Are Right
ReplyDeleteIn Why Catholics Are Right, author, columnist, and practicing Catholic Michael Coren examines four main aspects of Catholicism as they are encountered, understood, and more importantly, misunderstood today. Beginning with a frank examination of the tragedy of the Catholic clergy abuse scandal, Coren addresses some of them most common attacks on Catholics and Catholicism. Tracing Catholic history, he deconstructs popular and frequent anti-Catholic arguments regarding the Church and the Crusades, the Inquisition, Galileo, and the Holocaust. He examines Catholic theology and central pillars of Catholic belief, explaining why Catholics believe what they do: papal infallibility, immaculate conception, the Church rather than Bible alone. Finally, he explores the dignity of life argument and why it is so important to Catholicism.
Why don't you try getting in touch with him and showing him the error of his ways?
I'm sure the "holy spirit" can guide you, right Dan?
In actuality, the mere fact that there are different denominations within xianity is one piece of evidence that shows that it's bullshit.
Think: They have the same so-called "infallible" book, access to the same infallible author (through prayer, etc) yet they just can't seem to get their stories straight.
There really is no excuse.
Yep - same sources, same assumed origin, so many possible interpretations declared as absolute truth. Go, Christianity!
DeleteThere really is no excuse.
ReplyDeleteWell...
I think there *is* an excuse, but it's one that devastates dogmatic absolutist theology. The excuse is that the Bible was written by men, and as such, interpretations which ignore that fact are doomed to be colorful and varied.
And largely baseless.
This is what I say about this whole affair.
ReplyDeleteSo, Pope Francis of Argentina. I guess we can put another failed prophesy to bed.
ReplyDeleteThis is the last pope, ...Now. You confused? As the post states:
Delete" As you know, St. Malacy prophecies states this next Pope with be the last before Christ comes."
So, pope Francis is the last one.
Is St Malacy a genuine prophet Dan? Is Francis 'Peter the roman'? No
DeleteDan is an anti-catholic, Alex. He's saying, I think, that this Malachy prophecy is an example of the falseness of the catholic belief system.
DeletePolitically speaking, Pope Francis - with his adamant focus upon humility and help for the downtrodden (despite his dubious past) will probably revive enthusiasm for Catholic faith, at least until he dies and the next pope is elected. Maybe he's the last pope but one...
DeleteAtheists will love this pope. He gives out "get out of jail free" cards. Silly pope!
DeleteI should screen cap this for when the next pope is elected, so I can remind Dan of his idiocy
ReplyDeleteDon't be so silly dude, we both will know Malacy will be false when there is another pope after Francis. Because that is what the Bible instructs. Why do you invite so much animosity? You feel alone, and want a hug? Bring it in. :7)
DeleteThere will be another pope after Francis, because the Catholic church, like all religious institutions, is a human construct, fuelled by human hubris. The child abuse scandal has not so far been enough to topple an edifice that has endured for the best part of two millennia, and even if it loses relevance in the modern social landscape, the Catholic Church will last beyond where it is now. It might take another hundred years to peter out, so to speak. But as a political and social entity, it will outlast all of us who are spending our meagre words on this blog...
DeleteLOL! Malacy is right! Except when Malacy is wrong! Then Malacy is false! Hence: GOD IS REAL.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is a joke. Debunking atheists? You can't. By nature of faith, you cannot debunk non-faith. Please increase your logical void D.A.N.
Yes, someone can be right or wrong. But if someone is so boldly proclaiming their information is directly coming from God, as a prophecy, then as the Bible states it will certainly be prophetic truth. As everything from God is indeed truth. The fruit of being false, means it is not of God. That is like saying the darkness comes from light, or cold from the heat. It is a non sequitur. So this is Malacy's bright shinning moment, or a revelation of his darkness. I will root for him.
DeleteGod is indeed real, this is exposed with every truth claim, every knowledge claim, and even every rational thought you have.
Although that is not my goal here, it must be asked, are you certain an Atheist cannot be debunked? Or I can't debunk one? If so, how are you certain?
Dan
ReplyDeleteAs everything from God is indeed truth. The fruit of being false, means it is not of God.
Thanks, Dan

Oh, Dan, I did a post about the alleged "resurrection." I thought you might be interested. It's the right time of year.
ReplyDeleteDan,
ReplyDeleteYou hypocrite, if your god existed do you really think that he would want to be worshipped via the dishonest crap of presuppositionalism? A technique that relies on intellectual dishonesty? Really? I doubt it. Therefore you worship your stupid ego, your need to feel triumphant even if by tricks-against-the-unwary, while pretending that you worship your god. Yet, no matter how much you pretend to worship your god, you don't even pretend to worship him his way.
What is it with (internet) atheists, ever raging! Uh could it have something to do with a certain type of tree bearing a certain type of fruit?
