Exclusive - Ricky Gervais Extended Interview Pt. 2

We have discussed this subject of Santa many times here, but its catching on quite a bit as evidenced by what Ricky Gervais just said (strong language aside) on the Daily Show. So let's reference to this post in the future.

A few days ago I watched a video of shockofgod, who is discussing about this very subject many times in his videos and dubbed the term "Santa Syndrome" in 2006, he pointed out this video from MrBelrox that drives the point home well:

Where Are the Atheists in Congress?

We did notice that Congress was reading the Constitution line by line on the floor. (When all else fails, read the instructions) Now they are on to something!

Most Evil Thing?

Rufus asked me "Dan, what is the most evil thing that has happened in your life?"

At first, because of Eve, I was thinking that maybe it was women...har har. But women are the single greatest thing that happened to us. A world with just a bunch of dudes? Yuck!

I thought it might have been that excited 16 year old that just got his license and was proudly driving home on our block when he ran over me and broke my leg. I was 8 years old, I ran into the street playing tag with my friends and I hit his door and slid right under the car. He didn't mean to do it, and neither did I. It kept me away from team sports though. Who knows, I could be on steroids playing for the majors these days otherwise. Plus, because of that, I took up swimming instead. I got real good and became a rescue swimmer and subsequently a life guard. I cannot justify that as evil.

I thought maybe it was being raised an Atheist that was evil. But, I could not justify it to be so because it is what helped me explore God and indirectly prepared me to become a Christian.

Financial Friday

These are the last days to send in your ballots, if you are absentee voting like we are. Do some research to solidify who and what you will be voting for, here is a quick snapshot that's appropriate.

In the spirit of Financial Friday I thought some charts would be interesting to reveal our concurrence of the issues. I saw a poll that was interesting and just re-posted the charts here for mere convenience purposes. These charts are interesting to see how people feel about our current plight.

What I found really interesting is the tyrannical agenda of a "certain group" revealed in the chart named "The Federal Government operates best when one political party controls both the Congress and the White House." This is the same group that is more employed by the government then the other groups and feels that the Federal deficit is not that big of an issue. Murdering of a country is consistent with murdering of babies after all.

The Rise of Atheism (Unhappiness)

There is some statistics that are relevant to recent discussion about kids and religion. The results in the American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS) were interesting and quite revealing. Apparently the comparison of past to present claims of religious status is changing America in a big way.

An article said that, So many Americans claim no religion at all (15%, up from 8% in 1990), that this category now outranks every other major U.S. religious group except Catholics and Baptists. In a nation that has long been mostly Christian, "the challenge to Christianity … does not come from other religions but from a rejection of all forms of organized religion," the report concludes.

The same study concluded that we, as Christians, are staying about the same. This is probably because we are already written in the Book of Life in ink that cannot be erased.

So, this report also shows that actual soundly saved Christians do not have much fluctuation in beliefs and do not fall away and become ex-Christians as some Atheists attempt to claim.

The percentage of those who choose a generic label, calling themselves simply Christian, Protestant, non-denominational, evangelical or "born again," was 14.2%, about the same as in 1990.

Also, a study has found that spirituality and higher levels of religious behavior account for 5% of an adult's happiness. The results of the UBC study came as a surprise: to 16.5% of children's happiness can be accounted for by spirituality.

"From our perspective, it's a whopping big effect," said Holder. "I expected it to be much less — I thought their spirituality would be too immature to account for their well-being."
The less happier you are, the less God is in your life. Do you now see a void of hope in the lie of Atheism? Where is the justification for those Death Camps? So why don't you let those kids choose happiness/spirituality instead of indoctrinating them? Let them grow up and choose for themselves. What do you have against happiness?

Denominations of Atheism

I thought denominations were bad enough in Christianity. The mere fact there are different denominations negates the one true way as talked about in Jeremiah 32:38-40. But I just read that even Atheism has its denominations also.

Apparently, John Gray believes there are different flavors of Atheism. I am sure I can come up with more then Gray's five. Wasn't it Christopher Hitchens who proclaimed Protestant atheism, or something to that effect, when asked if he was a Catholic non believer or a Protestant non believer? It appears that even Atheists are at odds with their beliefs and religion.

Gray identified five strains of Atheism:

1. Science-Oriented Atheism. An atheism that grounds itself in scientific modes of understanding, and the discourse of science. My notes are unclear on this point, so I won't say anything more.
2. Ultra-Protestant Atheism. This kind of atheism rests strongly on the idea of individual autonomy, and holds that one shouldn't take anything on authority. Gray thinks this is rooted in Protestantism.
3. Non-Humanist Atheism. Arthur Schopenhauer, Gray says, is a good example of this orientation. Schopenhauer didn't like Christianity or the churches, but he also believed that atheism is its own thing, and owes nothing to science. Science and atheism are, to use Stephen Jay Gould's phrase, "non-overlapping magisteria." One doesn't have anything to do with the other. (It's my sense from reading Gray's work that this would describe his own position -- this, combined with Naturalistic Atheism, see below.)
4. Anti-Liberal Atheism. Friedrich Nietzsche, for example. It as actively anti-liberal, and contemptuous of liberal values. In Gray's view, this is completely logical. Liberal values - ideals of toleration - come straight out of Judaism and Christianity, says Gray. Nietzsche viciously attacked liberalism precisely because of its Christian values (it pitied the weak, for example, and was a slave religion that honored what was contemptible in man, in Nietzsche's view).
5. Naturalistic Atheism. The idea that religion is a normal part of life, that if you try to eliminate the religious sense from life, you're going to get repression of natural instincts. It's a benign or favorable attitude toward religion as a natural expression of what it means to be human. It's interesting to reflect, says Gray, on how atheist regimes -- Revolutionary France, Soviet Russia, the Third Reich -- have quickly adapted a secular sacerdotal gloss, becoming political religions with their own pantheons of saints and sacraments, to speak to the religious sense within man. This sort of atheist isn't threatened by religion, and in fact sees religion as satisfying an important instinct within human beings -- but it must be kept in its place.

Gray added that Atheists cannot deal with the fact that atheism in power has been horrifically deadly, because it would deny the basic dogma of their faith: that atheism leads to liberation and redemption, and that their project of liberating people from their traditions and their history also severs them from their humanity.

Do you have another category that you follow? Maybe you all should have a council of sorts, like Council of Necia, to determine what is, and is not, to be believed.

As a Christian I enjoy being identified by what I believe. It must be horribly difficult to be labeled for something you don't believe. That list is too extensive for me. Proclaiming to be a Non Santa Atheist, for example, seems to be a pointless label. So does Atheism for that matter.

Andrew highlighted a personality test that I found interesting. Patty took this earlier at her work and I found it uncanny how accurate it was pointing her personality out by just a few questions. During the conversation with Andrew, I also was considering how interesting it would be to understand each others personalities, if you feel comfortable to share that is. This may be some horoscope Ouija thing so I appologize, if it is, to my Christian friends but it may be fun. To be accurate, take the test once and give that result, as I have. Ignotheists

Out of 60 people that answered the poll, the results were different then I thought it would be.

Have you, as an atheist, read the entire Bible cover to cover?

37 said yes they have read the Bible cover to cover. That is admirable and what I would expect from someone debating against Christianity. These atheists are well informed as to the subject matter. They took the time to educate themselves in dealing with the subjects of Salvation and life after death. It's commendable they, at the very least, were inquisitive about salvation.

It may have been because of their upbringing but they indeed searched for truth in the Bible. From the source, they sought to answer life's questions; Not ones like "Are those cookies made with real Girl Scouts?" or "If drinking and driving is illegal, why do bars have parking lots?" Or more perplexing ones like "Can atheists get insurance for acts of God?" but the real big questions of life such as: Why is there something rather than nothing? How Do You Explain Human Nature? What Happens after Death? and How Do You Determine Right and Wrong?

These questions, and many more, are addressed in the Holy Bible and can give people a mere glimpse of the true majesty of God. Written by God and penned by Man, the Bible was created as a way to communicate to us Salvation, even after all these many thousands of years. The Bible is alive even to this very day.

And that brings us to tonight's word: Ignotheists. Three of you said "No" and 20 of you said they read "Parts, but never cover to cover" which to me is the biggest surprise. It means that 30% of you are ignorant of Christianity and the Bible. Basically you are what I call ignorant [a]theists or Ignotheists.

So, in the future, if you haven't read the Bible then you cannot refer to yourselves as atheists anymore because you are basing your beliefs on very little information.

Even though a suicidal decision was made, any true atheist would, at least, do the research to make such a important decision about salvation. Anyone not willing to take the time to do the research is called an Ignotheist. And that's tonight's word.

World Wide Economic Meltdown by Ray Comfort

Allow me to parrot Ray today. What if you all start to see the Bible come true? Would you acknowledge it? Would you understand that you have been wrong all along?

Experts have long predicted that we would see a world-wide economic collapse, a one-world government, and the raising up of a charismatic world leader that will bring peace and stability and will not let people buy and sell without a mark...

As this unfolds, it is slowly dawning on you that the Bible is right, and that all those "mistakes" you found in the Bible were actually your mistakes. And that leads to a sobering revelation. It means that Hell is real. So, what are you going to do? I have a suggestion. Humble yourself, then admit you were wrong, and get right with God through repentance and faith in Jesus. Ellen Johnson?

The former leader and president of American Atheists, Ellen Johnson, talks about some jaw dropping statistics about how atheists vote and what they vote for. Johnson is the successor of the most hated woman in America. Now, I fully understand that not "all" of you hold her views but like Richard Dawkins, she is the voice for American Atheism and is trying to get all of you to drink the kool-aid. Of course in 'light' of this Public Relations nightmare the organization immediately placed on their website "American Atheists has positions open for Editor and President" as to 'save face' from the public outcry. So how did she get to the top then?


Is this really who you want to go down in history as being associated with? "No of course not, no way, we aren't like that at all." Let me shoot it strait here, let's use some logic because I actually love you. You don't become president of anything without expressing your opinion. An organization would appoint someone president who can best represent their viewpoint, a president has to have a mouth on them. I know I have been one. You have to be able to sell your ideas. So please don't give me the "we aren't like that" speech. A chain is as strong as it's weakest link and Ms. Johnson was the weakest link of a Walmart $3 dollar necklace.

Why professing Christians would break such a sacred Covenant with God to follow the likes of Johnson and Dawkins is so beyond my comprehension. Then, only later to find that the leaders are flakes. Remember you can't put Jesus on to make your flight more comfortable. You do it because you are so very grateful for being saved from death. Your loyalty would be a lot less shallow.

Any other company would fail with a president like Ms. Johnson. If you were to get rid of a Bill Gates or a Steve Jobs, the company would suffer a great deal or fold completely. Without Ray Comfort there would be no Living Waters or Way of the Master. Atheists tried to make Ray a laughing stock by quote mining his soda/banana presentation. To some now, he is labeled "banana man." But we still love him and his ministries because of the good fruit (banana) we see. On a side note, did anyone else notice that it was atheists that broke the quote-mining rule by editing his soda/banana parody. Don't you all even complain about Ray quote mining? Am I the only one that sees the total outright hypocrisy here? Do any of you have any morals? Does Ms. Johnson have any morals? Can you see a pattern here?

You would pick this lady or Richard Dawkins over Jesus? Really? No, really?

Carl Packman wrote recently a news article about Richard Dawkins creepy viewpoint of The Genius of Charles Darwin. Packman points out "Dawkins, in choosing a form of firebrand fundamentalist atheism over the discipline science, is no longer the champion of reason but rather a kind of evangelical against religion" Packman also observed "It's not very long before Professor Dawkins cuts to the chase and explains how utterly irrational and dangerous spiritual beliefs can be (indeed it was an amusing undertaking to see how long it was until Dawkins plunged his dagger once more into faith)."

Like Dawkins, Ms. Johnson is the spokesperson for all of you like it or not. What I don't understand though and I often wonder, doesn't anyone see through these people? Don't you see the push of their own Dogma of atheism as a religion. Please don't answer that, it was rhetorical. I just don't get you all.

Don't you think the charades and damage has been done already? Let me take a wild guess, when that day comes when it's Judgement Day each and every one of you will say, in reference to being an atheist, "No of course not, no way, we aren't like that at all." It's time right now to Repent and trust in Jesus our Lord and our only Savior. We will never fail with Him as our President like Ms. Johnson and Richard Dawkins has failed all of you. Do it today!

Why don't you believe in it? Because it's false and will probably be mankind's biggest blunder/mistake of all time. Hitler even tried to breed apes and humans to make a superior race because of evolution. Give me a break!

Where do atheists congregate and feel at home?

Click on the picture above to see where atheists are concentrated. Since the United States have the least percentage of fractious atheists, I figured I would help them out. Atheists can use this as a guide to moving. They would indeed feel welcomed more, someplace else. It appears that Japan or Vietnam would welcome atheists with open arms, so pack your bags and move to a more God forsaken country, such as these. Keep in mind that the kids in Japan mostly worship American culture so you might feel homesick there.

God Fearing Atheists?

Are these people confused or secretly hiding something? From this article titled Religion survey's God-fearing atheists

I quote "21 percent of the people who say they are atheists but express a belief in God or universal spirit, more than half of those who say they are agnostic express a similar belief."



"More than 90 percent of Americans — including one in five people who say they are atheists — believe in God or a universal power, and more than half pray at least once a day, according to results of a poll released Monday that takes an in-depth look at Americans' religious beliefs." (America's faith deep, nuanced)

The movement of the religion of Secular Humanism is catching on but not to the extent as they would have you believe. I remember a time, back in the 90's, when the Gay community was claiming 10% of America as being gay when the real numbers were around 1-3%. Now 5% claim atheism and is being promoted, but 'in the closet' 1 out of 5 of that 5% are believing in God and some even praying! All the glory to God.



It also appears that atheists are the minority in saying that "In God We Trust" should be taken out in mandated exercises of civic expression.

The atheists here in California wrongly claim: "These phrases represent outdated and government-sanctioned bigotry."

Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals said it best "When a survey says that atheists believe in God it seems obvious that some don't know what an atheist is or who God is or don't much think about logical inconsistency. But we know that lots of people aren't good at taking surveys!

Or maybe some atheists don't believe in God but would like to if they could find a way.

The universality of religion and the quest for God seems to confirm that there is an unsatisfied desire for God in almost all of us. Just because some arrive at an official "no God" philosophical conclusion doesn't mean that the universal desire is satisfied by denial. So, we have 21 percent of atheists who believe and pray anyway."
