Do atheists have a sense of humor?

Joke 1:

A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they are atheists too. Not really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.

There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Lucy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.

"Because, I'm not an atheist."

Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?"
"I'm a Christian."

The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why she is a Christian.

"Well, I was brought up knowing and loving Jesus. My mom is a Christian, and my dad is a Christian, so I am a Christian."

The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly.

"What if your mom was an idiot and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"

Lucy paused, smiled and said, "Then, I'd be an atheist!"
Joke 2:

An atheist was walking through the woods.

"What majestic trees"!

"What powerful rivers"!

"What beautiful animals"!

He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right On top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh please God, help me!"

Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was still.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer"?

The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps You could make the BEAR a Christian"?

"Very Well," said the Voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:

"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen."

Joke 3:

  1. great debunking. Keep up the good work.

  2. My 6 year old liked them. Read on there is more posts.

Isn't making jokes about absurdities a form of debunking? I liked them, you didn't?

    1. This is called the straw-man fallacy. You're simplifying a contention to the point where it is not the actual contention originally presented and then refuting that like it refutes the ACTUAL proposition; Attacking a "straw-man."

    2. The vast majority of your arguments fall under this fallacy, and so many contentions you base your belief on are refuted regardless of your willingness to recognize it via this fallacy. Shouting out that you're right even after you've been proven wrong doesn't make you right. It makes you stupid.

    3. >> Shouting out that you're right even after you've been proven wrong doesn't make you right. It makes you stupid.

Here we can test that out withyou. You keep bringing up logical fallacies as if you thought logic was absolute. I would ask you to try to be more consistent with your professed worldview, but rather I urge you to repent of it.

The laws of logic are universal, how can an atheist know anything to be universally true? The laws of logic are invariant, how do unchanging entities make sense in a constantly changing universe? The laws of logic are not made of matter, how do things which are not made of matter make sense in ANY atheistic worldview?

Last questions. Are you absolutely certain that your reasoning is valid? If so, how are you certain?

  3. It all depends on your perspective...I love Jesus of the Week and Jesus Dress Up. Lots of laughs!!! My 8 year old daughter cracks up with Dress Up Jesus! You can actually dress him up in Hugo Boss motorcycle boots!

  4. mocking = debunking? I expected something more, somehow.

  5. I guess you answered the question tekhedd2003.

    Touché Barbie, ouch.

  6. i love number three.

IN fact it is a fine paraody of the way the people at some other site mock chritianity..........'with our magic dead man on a stick.'

IS it part of debunking? well for many (what's it called, ad rediculidum?)it is they way people started the whole de-conversion process to begin with. And the weapon they use in their puritine efforts to get us to "see".

Dispite my current beliefs i must admit the question" doesn't Atheism boil down to,' by my reason it was no reason at all that brought about nothing to happen, therefore what has evolved form nothing, is nothing to begin with, thus i do not exist.'"

.......hum....if that is so, hen it would be just fine to belive in a non-existant god, our natures are the same, in each others image we are.

  7. http://www.brendancalling.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/christianity.JPG

Why did this pop up when I was looking through "Humanism" pictures?
Okay that bear one was funny, I can appreciate that. However, it doesn't give you anything in return to be close-minded.

  8. Telpop,

However, it doesn't give you anything in return to be close-minded.

Are you claiming Atheism is open minded?

Bwahahaha! Now that is a funny joke. I appreciate the laugh. You crack me up.
