Cognitive Dissonance

I am astonished how adversarial atheists get when we reject their religious worldview of naturalism.

  1. Hey Dan. How are you and Patty doing? My atheist butt is concerned about your Christian butts.

    2. I'm sorry buddy, I just froze on what to say. Publicly, I will say it's very intense. But, we remain optimistic. We are at His mercy. I'm hopeful for His willingness to ease my wife's suffering. I'll tell you the rest over a beer friend.

    1. You do understand that an appeal to ridicule is fallacious arguing, which is to be ignored as its illogical. Is that all you have? If so, we're done.

    2. Hey Dan. If you could use a laugh, here's an interpretation of Jesus that I think you and I can agree upon as being completely bonkers:

    1. Thanks, we've been internalizing, slow to speak, instead of sticking my neck out for the chopping block and bickering with Atheists. Our circumstances are humbling, and I feel honored God is working in my entire family. I just don't want to screw things up.

My anger was rising, that needed repentance. Watching my family grown, like birthing pains, takes some getting used to. Patty at this very early stage is cancer free, and we're trying to stay humble to receive these trials with graciousness. Our kids are growing up so fast, I feel I'm losing time to Shepard their hearts properly. I was getting military focused, trying to control situations, forgetting we're on the great ride that was chosen for us by God, who is actually in charge. I guess my point is saying, teenagers make things "exciting" while watching your wife go through serious events.

I love it though, feel God working greatness in or family, and I'm doing my best not to just mess it all up. Thanks for your concerns for us, we're certainly in Good Hands. I pray the same for you, although it may seem as I'm wishing a curse to the idolatrous deniers, but it isn't. Humbling trials are a good thing for growth. In Him.

    2. I am a Buddhist and we don't believe in gods. Also we say there are 84,000 paths to enlightenment and mine is just one. Sounds a little more accepting of others than the Christian mine is the right the only valid, right path and all others are wrong. Why do Christians push their religion onto others and say bad things about non beleivers? Atheists get mad because they are tired of Christians pushing their religion in our schools and government.

    3. >>I am a Buddhist and we don't believe in gods.

Correction, you deny the God you know exists in your unrighteousness. Moving on

      >>Also we say there are 84,000 paths to enlightenment and mine is just one.

Fallible men say a lot of things. How are you absolutely certain your reasoning is valid? Could you be wrong about the things you're claiming to know?

      >>Sounds a little more accepting of others than the Christian mine is the right the only valid, right path and all others are wrong.

Again, how are you absolutely certain of that? Could you be wrong?

      >>Why do Christians push their religion onto others and say bad things about non beleivers?[sic]

Because they're wrong, and perfect love is a constant confronter. Plus, it is YOU calling God a liar. God revealed Himself to all mankind, (Romans 1:18-23) and those that deny that is calling God a liar, which is logically impossible. So, if you want to accuse someone of saying bad things, go get a mirror.

      >>Atheists get mad because they are tired of Christians pushing their religion in our schools and government.

Great, now you speak for all Atheists? Whatever. It is the ATHEISTS that have taken over the public school system and universities pushing their atheistic worldviews as truth, namely naturalism.

      I posted about it bit.ly/hatedwoman

An American Humanist named John Dunphy, echoed Madalyn's tactics, and said in 1983:

"I am convinced that the battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects the spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers, for they will be ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of the educational level--preschool day care or large state university. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new--the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with all its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism."

It is the Atheists who've declared war on us. You MUST have dyslexia of some sort.

I will ask again, COULD you be wrong about the things you're claiming to know.

  8. Dan- by all means, don't worry about bickering with atheists. You have more important stuff to do for your family. We atheists will still be around to bicker with when everything is going well for you and yours.

Humbling trials are good for atheists too. My father in law just died and we're dealing with that in many ways.

Take care, cheers from springy Vienna, Scott

    1. I am a Buddhist and that also means an atheist as we don't believe in gods (Tibeatian Buddhist do). We reflect on death and impermanace every day. Maybe quit pushing your religion as the right and only valid one and be more accepting of others.

    2. >>I am a Buddhist and that also means an atheist as we don't believe in gods (Tibeatian Buddhist do). [sic]

Knowledge is revealed by God, otherwise it's mere temporary opinion and beliefs, as you're showing here. This is why I'm asking HOW are you certain.

      >>Maybe quit pushing your religion as the right and only valid one and be more accepting of others.

Don't you EVER tell me what to do again. You are the one's we are trying to help out of the hell you deserve, and you tell me to stop. Go F*** yourself.

As far as Christianity, If the wrath of God is like a freight train, think of us preachers as the railroad crossing merely warning and flashing lights that you're headed for danger.

ALL False religions, like yours and Atheists, have a common denominator and that is there assault on the term "Justification." They are working toward their salvation. We are working as a result of our salvation.

  11. Hello is all right. Atheism is a religion. It is documented here. The same author posited that it is becoming atheo-fascism. It is ironic that high courts in the United States are considered intelligent when they rule in favor of those things of which liberals approve, such as homosexual marriage, but when they rule that atheism is a religion, they are fools that do not know what they are saying.

    1. Atheist is an opinion. If you want to find a religion that does not believe in gods that would be Buddhism. I'd like to ask why your god is valid and all the others are not Zeus, Thor etc "fools that don't know what they are saying"? Why is your religion the only valid one? And why do you have a need to push it? Also why do you get mad when someone does not believe in your religion?

    2. >>Atheist is an opinion.

Now THAT is very disingenuous. But I don't expect a person who denies God, to be honest at all.

      >>If you want to find a religion that does not believe in gods that would be Buddhism.

You mean if you want a fast tract to hell, deny the God you know exists in your unrighteousness.

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." ~ 1 John 2:22

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." ~1 John 4:3

"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time." ~1 John 2:18

      >> I'd like to ask why your god is valid and all the others are not Zeus,

God revealed Himself to all mankind. Because it's an irrelevant thesis to the subject at hand. False gods, created by men, are not what this subject is about. I am merely commanded to speak the truth, defend it, and expose falsehoods.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding. It's not premise premise premise therefore God.

It's God therefore, logic, truth, reason, uniformity of nature etc. We don't arrive at God at the end of a reasoning process. We acknowledge that God and His Word is the foundation for reasoning.

Lets face it, if an all knowing, all powerful being exists He could reveal Himself to his fallible creatures such that they were certain of it. And he has.

If you wish to prove that it would be impossible for such a being to do so, the floor is yours to demonstrate that.

      >>Why is your religion the only valid one?

God revealed it. You deny He did? You would hold that burden of proof. bit.ly/BoProof

To avoid any confusion on your part:

General revelation (Earth and planets and their locations, grass, oceans, the universe, math, laws, etc. ) Natural revelation ( direct revelation to a fallible mind, conscience, intuitive revelation) and Special revelations (Jesus, His resurrection, Scriptures, miracles, prophecies, etc.)

You would have to be certifiably insane to any rational individual to deny all of these, all at once. Yet, Atheists do all the time, everyday.

      >> And why do you have a need to push it?

Because I love you enough to speak truth to you, you obviously don't understand what honor is. I am fighting hard for your soul. You're choosing to grip and complain about the truth, and then chastise me for speaking it. So again, go F*** yourself, evil person. Get behind me Satan.

      >>Also why do you get mad when someone does not believe in your religion?

Because I hate to see senseless people die senselessly, when they have a choice to not perish.

I'm sure that if an "atheist" or "Buddhist" wanted to, they could surrender to God, confess and repent of their sins, put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and receive a full pardon by God. They just don't want to. Takes us right back to Proverbs 14:2 and Proverbs 12:1, doesn't it.

In that same breath, I need to point out that John 3:12, Jeremiah 33:3, 2 Corinthians 3:15-16 all points out that repentance comes before knowledge of truth, not after: 2 Timothy 2:24-26

God gives you over to YOUR desire to reject Him. Plain and simple. If you accept Christ, it is because God has honored your desires and pulled that deceitfully wicked heart (Jeremiah 17:9) away from you, as you begged Him to. (Psalm 51:17)
